Program for Cable Pulling Tension
Calculation and Conduit System Design

  • Intuitive Operation – User-friendly menus and control buttons.
  • Customized Database – Unlimited number of cables can be put in easy-to-use database.
  • Flexible – Pull/pull, variable friction, rollers, pull reverse, back calculation, and more.
  • Operates on Standard Windows® – Allows data transfer for word processing, printing, and saving.
  • Universal – Runs metric or English units.

Pull-Planner 4.0 for Windows® calculates cable pulling tension and sidewall pressure around bends using the pulling equations.  The Pull-Planner 4.0 also utilizes industry standards to calculate maximum pulling tension and conduit fill.  Tension estimates are useful in designing conduit systems and planning cable pulls. Such planning can save time and money by minimizing splices, vaults, pulling set-ups, etc., while ensuring installation tensions that won’t damage cable.  Cables are susceptible to damage when sidewall bearing pressure limits are exceeded, making preplanning extremely important.  The program runs on English or metric units.

Pull-Planner 4.0 for Windows® follows the proven practice of the earlier Pull-Planner versions by approaching a pull in “segments.”  It accepts pull and cable data saved under the previous Pull-Planner software versions.  The 4.0 differs by separating straight runs from bend segments and allowing all data input on one screen, making it even more user friendly.  Browser (html) “HELP” menu links throughout the program explain data entry and terminology.  An instructional video is available online for thorough training on the entire program.

Pull-Planner 4.0 for Windows® is available exclusively as an Internet download.  It runs on numerous Windows® operating systems.  Total installation consumes 30 megabytes of hard drive space.
